Medication Technician

The Medication Technician course at Legacy U Healthcare Consulting & Training Center is designed to prepare students to safely administer medication in Adult Care homes. The course is 15 hours and consists of 10 hours of classroom instruction and 5‐hours of clinical skills validation.  Students are taught basic medication administration and terminology, infection control, legal & ethical responsibilities, the interpretation of medication orders, and how to order, store, and properly dispose of medications. Individuals are expected to pass the clinical skills tasks with 100% competency demonstrated. This program is designed for learner’s who want to advance their career, or interested in starting a career in the medical field to become a Medication Technician. Upon completion students may sit for certification testing through the NC Department of Health & Human Services.

Prerequisites:

HS Diploma or Equivalency

2 forms of government ID

Course Cost: $175 ( includes $75 non-refundable registration fee)

DHHS Testing fee: $25 (Paid separately by student upon completion of course)

Total course cost to student: $200
